When the Spiders Crawl, Faurholt’s 10th solo album, was recorded solemnly during late hours when his children were asleep. The record's 12 songs range from fragile folky tunes to hook-laden grungy lo-fi-rock. Throughout the album you’ll find soundbites of radio static, birds chirping, old sci-fi radio and more. All which adds to the atmosphere of the album.

On three songs Trine Omø from the Danish alternative pop act Det Nye Navn sings backing vocals. Faurholt and Omø played music together back in the mid-00s, where she was a part of the duo Sweetie Pie Wilbur with whom Faurholt released his debut album.
